In pictures: A look back at Ireland star Aine O'Gorman's football career to date
Aine O Gorman has been a key member of the squad since 2006
The Girls in Green did Ireland proud in this years FIFA World Cup.
Although we were unsuccessful in getting past the first round, qualifying for the World Cup in the first place is a massive achievement. Every member of that squad should be proud of themselves for being part of history but there are a few for whom this World Cup was a long time coming.
Wicklow native Aine O'Gorman made her debut for Ireland in 2006, at the age of 17. Her career has seen her turn out for Stella Maria, Peamount United, UCD Waves, Doncaster Rovers, and now Shamrock Rovers.
Aine was also one of the main players of the team who spoke up against the FAI for the unfair treatment of the women's national team in 2017. She and other players fought for the right to proper changing room facilities as well as the right to compensation for loss of wages while on duty and a host of other issues.
