Shelbourne are offering free entry to all for their next three Women's League of Ireland home games.

The Drumcondra club have announced that everyone is invited to come along to their next three home fixtures against Athlone, Sligo, and Bohs to see the reigning champions, off the back of an explosion of interest in women's football in Ireland this summer. Six of the Irish World Cup panel - captain Katie McCabe, Abbie Larkin, Izzy Atkinson, Chloe Mustaki, Ciara Grant, and training squad member Jamie Finn - previously played for the Reds.

To register to receive tickets, you can fill out the form here. Big groups, sports teams, and schools looking to go are asked to email Keith.McDarby@shelbournefc.ie.

“We believe in the power of football to bring communities together, to inspire and uplift," said Shels manager Noel King.

"We want to grow our community and there’s no better time to do so when the nation is gripped by Ireland, having done us all proud at the World Cup. The club’s decision to offer free entry to not just one, but three of our Women’s League of Ireland home games is testament to the commitment we all share at Shelbourne FC to grow the game here, we want to introduce a whole new group of people to the talent, dedication, and unity that make the women’s game here in Ireland so special.”

Captain Pearl Slattery added: "I’m delighted this is being done, over the past five years, we’ve witnessed an incredible surge in the growth of women’s football in Ireland. The support and enthusiasm from our own supporters, coupled with the quality of the players and the on the pitch product, have propelled the game forward.

"This Reds Hat Trick initiative is a clear commitment from the club to grow the game and remove the barriers for people getting down to Tolka on a Saturday to try it out, I think it’ll help to grow our inclusive and vibrant football community."

The Reds Hat Trick games are:

Game 1: Athlone Town | 2nd September 2023, 2pm kick off, Tolka Park

Game 2: Sligo Rovers | 18th October 2023, 7:45pm kick off, Tolka Park
